Members of the National Democratic Party across the country yesterday converged at the Accra Trade Fair center to hold its 9th delegates Congress.
An electoral college of about a 10,000 turned out to also amend the parties constitution before the elections started.
The voting which started at about 3pm yesterday is yet to come to a conclusion with Buno Ahafo, Ashanti and Greater Accra regions yet to cast their votes.
Security at at 6:48am was heavily present and protecting ballot boxes.
Whiles some aspirants still went about campaigning at the grounds.
The General Secretary of the party Mr. Johnson Nkatie, who is seeking to remain executive secretary of the party is closely contested by his Deputy, Kooko Anyidoho.
A deputy secretary aspirant, Hon. Kaler Ceazer a former deputy Regional minister was among the aspirants that kept wake at the congress grounds.
The party found HE, John Rawlings in his message to the delegates yesterday left the grounds with mixed tellings after telling the gathering to listen to themselves. He however declined to comment further on his statement.
The euphoria at the grounds this morning is still high with delegates cheering aspirant showing up at the congress venue.
But cautioned however has been thrown to the supporters of the aspirants to stop campaigning at the elections ground.
