As parts of fulfilling his promise in the 2016 campaigns, the Member of Parliament for Lawra and Dep. Minister of Roads and Highways, Hon Anthony Karbo is set to launch a support platform to empower female entrepreneurship in his constituency.
The support comes in the form of loans to boost capital of women especially in vocations such as Weaving, Tailoring and Trade etc. The women group is expected to be a formidable group that sees to the interest of women.
The Lawra constituency, in the Upper West Region of Ghana is predominantly agricultural based economy and majority of the women in that area survive by petty trading for livelihood.
The MP explains that Tideltaa Women Group is also meant to get women out of poverty by helping their entrepreneurial abilities in his constituency.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow Saturday 1st December at the Naa Abeifaa Memorial Park in Lawra town.
The Minister for Women and Children Affairs, Hon. Cynthia Morrison and MP for Assin Central Hon. Kennedy Agyapong are among special guest to grace the ceremony tomorrow in Lawra.
The town that once served as prison place for Ghana’s first president is greeted with a frenzy ambience ahead of the launch of Tideltaa Women Group, as women readily show interest in the joining the women group for various benefits that it tends to offer them.
