The ‘Me too’ movement has grown wings in the Western World and taken significant scalps of powerful men in all fields of endeavour.
The movement seems to be taking root in Ghana as well, with recent backlashes initiated against Comedian Waris and Teacher Kwadwo for sexually inappropriate jokes.
The difference being sexual assault allegations have not been made against either of the two but their words alone is getting them into huge trouble.
A few weeks ago it was Comedian Waris being roasted for making inappropriate jokes about Titi Sarkcess, and now some old posts by Teacher Kwadwo in which he made rape jokes have landed him in trouble, after some activism by the Pepper Dem Group.
The group petitioned Huawei, who sponsor him, to terminate their deal with him and also petitioned the Ghana Education Service to fire him.
Huawei thus ended their relationship with Kwadwo and he also received a letter from GES warning him about his conduct.
