Lawra Hospital honors Dr. Sebastian Ngmenenso Sandaare

The Member of Parliament for Daffiama-Bussie-issa(DBI) constituency, Hon. Sebastian Sandaare has received a citation in his honour at Lawra hospital’s 90th anniversary celebrations.

The Lawra Hospital in its 90 years of health delivery in the country, records over 1.5 million visiting at the facility since its inception in 1929, treating patients from Lawra and as far as neighboring country of Burkina Faso and beyond.

Speakers at the ceremony did not forget to speak to the good works and leadership style Dr. Sandaare brought to bare working at the facility and his leadership role that propelled much successes for the hospital in recent years.

Dr. Sebastian Sandaare, before his election as Member of Parliament in 2016, was the District Director of the Lawra Health Directorate since 2009. 

The Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr. Justine Dakura in his speech acknowledged the contributions of Sandaare in the success stories of the facility in 2014.

He said the facility was adjudged by Project Five Alive an NGO as the “best facility in the implementation of change management ideas” as Dr. Sandaare made a presentation on the success story of the hospital in the USA that year.

Hon. Dr. Sandaare after completing Medical School practiced  his profession entirely in the Upper West Region. He first worked at Nadowli hospital and later transferred to the Lawra hospital where he worked until his election into Parliament.

Dr. Sebastian Sandaare in the citation is described as a very dedicated and selfless medical practitioner whose quest to give quality health delivery to people as overwhelming.

Speaking to watchghana.com after the ceremony from Parliament house, Dr. Sandaare said his being a medical doctor did not confine him to the consulting room as his expertise in Parliament would better inform policy formation for quality health delivery in the country.
