Upper East Minister Credits Dev’t Of Northern Ghana To Rawlings As She Signs Book Of Condolence

The Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Tangoba Abayage has attributed the development foundation of the northern-part of Ghana to the late former President Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings describing his demise as a big loss to the country.

She mentioned the extension of electricity, general road networks, telephonies, some major infrastructural projects, the creation of the Upper West Region out of the then Upper Region among others as an immense achievement of the late President to this part of the country.

Hon. Abayage said this in Bolgatanga as she signed the book of condolence in memory of the fallen great hero.

She added that as a young girl at the time when the late President made his first coup d’état, they did not understand the issues but were fascinated about his charisma which the history of this country cannot do away with adding “Rawlings is an embodiment of a statesmanship” she stressed.

The Regional Minister described his sudden demise as sad story to talk about and extended her sincere sympathy and that of the religious Leaders the traditional authorities and all people of the Upper East Region to the former First lady, Nana Konadu Agymang Rawlings, the children and the family.
