Mr Kofi Osei- Ameyaw, the Director General (DG) of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has clash with his Deputy Mr Yaw Amoakohene Baafi over the DG's position.
Mr Osei-Ameyaw who is 61, and tenure officially expired on February 20, 2021 as the NLA DG is seeking to be retained on contract as the Authority's head for another year or two.
However, allies of Mr Baafi, who is considered by many to have a soft spot for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have also set in motion their agenda to get Mr Osei-Ameyaw out at all cost, even if it means getting their darling to serve in an Acting capacity for only six months.
With intense mudslinging and bragging that one person with knowledge of Mr Baafi’s intention and maneuvers, boasted to this paper that the President has ordered Mr Asante Bediatuo to give Mr Baafi an appointment letter but the man is brazenly refusing to carry out the President’s order.
Meanwhile, staff and the Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) are imploring President Nana Akufo Addo to show both Mr Osei-Ameyaw and Mr Baafi the exit for peace to reign at the NLA.
“Why are they desperately seeking to remain at post to the extent that they are outdoing each other? What at all is at the NLA that Osei Ameyaw doesn’t want to let go and his deputy is also moving all lengths to get his boss’ position, meanwhile, it is the two of them who made the place a scandal-prone authority,” an LMC member said.Source: Amadu Kamil Sanah
