The 2nd Vice Chairman of NPP UK, Mr. Kingsley Adumattah Agyapong has attributed the unending economic hardship in Ghana to inherent corruption and thievery among past and present government officials.
He alleged that no single head of state, ministers, CEOs or appointees of past and present governments could pass any corruption test. Insisting that almost all the officials of this country in one way or the other had stolen and are hauling up huge sums of monies (dollars) belonging to the state in their individual homes.
"I can tell you for a fact that when we go into the houses of most of our leaders from Rawlings, Kufuor, Atta Mills, Mahama and Akufo-Addo era and conduct a thorough search, we will find huge sums of dollars they are hiding there....they are keeping them there because they are afraid there will be suspicions if they send them to the bank....this is why our cedi is suffering and our economy is not developing".
Mr. Adumattah Agyapong who was speaking in a LIVE studio interview on Wontumi TV on Tuesday April 13, 2021 said "I will always say things the way they are....and what I am saying is true".
That notwithstanding, Mr. Adumattah Agyapong attributed Ghana's sluggish spate of development to the coming into power of NDC (Atta Mills-John Mahama) instead of NPP (Akufo-Addo-Bawumia) after the eight years tenure of President John Agyekum Kufuor.
He observed that Ghana would have been a better developed nation if Akufo-Addo was given the opportunity to lead the nation and build on the good foundation laid by President Kufuor.
He said that the introduction of the free Senior High School policy, banking sector clean up, digitisation of the economy and industrialisation agenda are necessary to move Ghana to the next level.
The 2nd Vice Chairman of NPP UK also took on the Head of Public Sector Reforms, Mr. Kusi Boafo for not living up to expectations.
According to him, there had not been any significant changes or reforms in the Public Sector of Ghana since he took over.
Mr. Adumattah Agyapong threw a challenge to Mr. Boafo to come out to explain to Ghanaians what he had been able to do in the sector that is not known to the public.
According to him, there is still so much indiscipline, laziness, bribery and corruption in the Public Sector which are derailing the progress of Ghana and giving the NPP government a bad name.
