A Ghanaian barber who identifies as Yaw Owusu, living in South Africa has been stabbed to death during an argument over Ghana’s penalty against South Africa.
The award penalty that made Ghana qualify to the playoffs has sparked a lot of controversy, with some South Africans accusing the referee of cheating them.
This was disclosed by former King Faisal radio representative Obeng Boadu, who currently resides in South Africa.
According to him, "The tension on Ghanaians here are very high. The South Africans have threatened to deal with Ghanaians here after their petition to Fifa."
“We are pleading with authorities to come to our aid here since things may become worse anytime soon. I don’t think Ghanaians are too safe as I speak to you.” he said.
On Monday, the South African FA announced that it had filed a complaint at FIFA and CAF for the match to be reviewed.
