Chief Akilu Criticizes MP for Misleading Constituents on Government's DRIP Initiative

Chief Akilu Sayibu, a former Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA), has strongly criticized Hajia Zuwera Ibrahim, the NDC Member of Parliament for Salaga South, for allegedly misleading her constituents about the recently launched District Roads Improvement Programme (DRIP).

According to Chief Akilu, the MP falsely claimed that the DRIP initiative, aimed at improving district roads, was being funded through her share of the MPs' Common Fund. This statement, made in the presence of the Paramount Chief of the Klaw traditional area, the Klaw Wura, has been met with severe backlash.

Chief Akilu expressed his disappointment in a social media post, highlighting that the DRIP program is a government-led initiative under the Nana/Bawumia administration, designed to address road infrastructure issues in districts with poor road conditions. He questioned how Hajia Zuwera could present such a "naked lie" in front of a revered traditional leader and her constituents.

"The presence of the Paramount Chief of the Klaw traditional area should have served as a premonition to the MP to have changed her mind on her well-rehearsed lies, but instead, she proceeded to tell the lie in gross disrespect to the institution of Chieftaincy, and to unsuspecting and vulnerable youth of her Constituency," Chief Akilu remarked.

As the Managing Editor and Publisher of The Voiceless Media, Chief Akilu further lamented that while the NPP, led by Dr. Bawumia, is focused on proposing "bold solutions" for the future, the NDC, represented by Hajia Zuwera, is resorting to "bold lies" as a strategy to regain power.

He condemned the practice of using misinformation as a political tool and urged the people of Salaga South to reject Hajia Zuwera in the upcoming elections, stating, "It is unacceptable for power-seeking politicians to propagate lies as a strategy to winning political power."

Chief Akilu called on voters to hold their leaders accountable and ensure that truth prevails in the political discourse of Ghana.
