Ghana Leadership Awards CEO Congratulates Mahama on Return To Presidency

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Leadership Awards (GLA), Rev. Professor Emmanuel Yao Nash has congratulated the President-elect, John Dramani Mahama, on his return to the highest office of the land.

According to the CEO of GLA, the coming back of Mr. Mahama is a reflection of how he had previously endeared himself in his service to the good people of Ghana and how he substantially met their expectations.

Mr. Mahama led the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the December 2024 general elections to defeat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), with over 57% of the total votes cast.

A statement issued in Accra by the GLA and signed by its CEO, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Yao Nash said the overwhelming endorsement received by Mr.  Mahama suggests how he is accepted by the masses to lead the nation one more time.

He reminded the yet to be  inaugurated president of the  responsibilities ahead and appealed to him to deliver on his social contract with Ghanaians.

Rev. Professor Nash challenged Mr. Mahama to bring his vast experience to bear to restore hopes and justify the confidence reposed in him to turn Ghana's economy around.

He, on the other hand, commended the Ghana Police Service and the 2024 National Election Taskforce led by the IGP, Dr. Akuffo Dampare for their sterling performance in ensuring a peaceful election.

He also commended the Electoral Commission (EC) for organising another free and fair election,  though with some visible skirmishes.

Rev. Professor Nash, who is also the CEO of the Ghana Peace Awards (GPA), was instrumental in advocating for a successful and transparent election to sustain the peace in Ghana.

In 2016, 2020 and 2024 elections,  Rev. Professor Nash led the crusade to lobby the various embassies in Ghana not to grant visas to all individuals who would attempt to undermine Ghana's democracy before,  during, and after the elections.

His proposal for visa restrictions, which was religiously implemented by the US embassy in the 2024 elections across the globe, largely influenced the peace Ghana is enjoying now.
