G2 Foundation fetes Widows and the Needy

G2 Foundation, a charity organization committed to assisting widows, orphans, physically challenged, extremely deprived families and needy but brilliant students has organized a special party for over 95 widows from within the Sunyani municipality and the Kumasi metropolis.

After partying, each of the widows was presented with a piece of cloth as their Christmas gift by the foundation.

The Chief Executive Officer of G2 foundation, Mrs. Gifty Nyarko Karikari revealed that as a beneficiary of the Sankofa International, who suffered from a broken home, it was he desire to give back to the underprivileged.

According to Mrs. Karikari, G2 Foundation was established in the year 2010 with the ultimate aim of improving the quality of life of the underprivileged people by providing emergency aids, employment opportunities, empowerment programs, financial support, and home maintenance as well as improving the healthcare of the said group in the societies.

She explained that Sankofa International granted her scholarship to pursue her education, so she and her husband desired to continue to uplift the image of Sankofa International by stretching their hands to other needy people in Ghana which led to the establishment of G2 Foundation.

The party was used to officially launched the G2 Foundation, where the CEO, Mrs. Gifty Karikari revealed some of the achievements of the foundation, disclosing that in Sunyani, the foundation have five (5) students enjoying scholarship programs at different levels of education in the country, out of which four of them are enjoying partial scholarship at the tertiary level and Senior High School level while the remaining one is enjoying full scholarship at the Senior High School.

She continued that in Kumasi two tertiary students; one University and a Nursing students and four Senior High School students are also beneficiaries of the G2 Foundation scholarship.

Mrs. Gifty Karikari also revealed that G2 Foundation has partnered with a skin Care Cosmetics soap making company in Sunyani, which has employed 6 petty traders to make a better living in Kumasi, while for the past four years it has been making donations to widows and orphans in both Sunyani and Kumasi.

The foundation according to the CEO has been able to provide accommodation for some homeless widows and orphans who were displaced in Kumasi, and has also taken care of the hospital bills of 5 needy people in Kumasi.

Mrs. Gifty Karikari expressed gratitude to her husband Mr. Gavin Karikari for his enormous support and encouragement, the Fiapre traditional Council and Rev. Dr. Msgr. Kwame Kumi among others for their support.

She indicated that the major challenge facing the foundation in funding, and called on other philanthropists to come and assist to reach out to more needy in societies.
